A single broadband seismometer located within the Tuckaleechee Caverns in the town of Townsend, TN. The original TKL site was installed in 1978, although it was not incorporated into the International Monitoring System until 2006. The seismometer enjoys constant year-round temperatures of 59F (15C) thanks to its underground location within the cave system. This site is maintained by the Geophysics Laboratory of the Southern Methodist University.
