Postdoctoral Fellowship

WATC is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to lead a machine learning (ML) focused project. The successful applicant will help develop and implement novel ML algorithms to detect, locate, and estimate the yield from explosive sources using infrasound data. Recent progress has been made by utilizing existing infrasound datasets and supplementing them with synthetic data from physics-based models. We envision this project will continue this synthesis and utilize ML algorithms and experiences from seismology and other fields. We encourage applicants who will facilitate and encourage diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Funding is available for two years, including regular travel to scientific meetings. The successful applicant will be encouraged to collaborate on related research projects at WATC and with internal and external partners. *U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
