Field Technician

Matthew graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics in 2016 and Master of Science in Geophysics in 2018. His research focused on developing a near-real-time statistical forecasting model of Vulcanian eruptions at Sakurajima Volcano (Japan) using nearby continuously recorded infrasound data. He worked for several years as a Lab Technician in an Infrasound Lab at Boise State; now a Research Technician at WATC, Matt enjoys his morning ski or bike commute and the chance to troubleshoot unexpected issues in remote field locations, while trying to preserve data quality and availability at IMS monitoring sites.
