Logan

Masters Student

Logan is a Masters student at University of Alaska Fairbanks studying Geophysics with a specific focus on seismoacoustics. He is originally from Washington State where he found his passion for the outdoors and interest in Earth processes, leading him to pursue a degree in Geosciences. He completed his B.S. in Geoscience with an emphasis in Geophysics from Boise State University in 2023, and moved to Alaska in early 2024 to pursue a graduate degree. While at Boise State he was fortunate enough to be involved in an undergraduate research project with Dr. Jake Anderson where he was first introduced to the field of infrasound. That experience sparked a deep interest in the subject, and lead him to study at UAF under Dr. David Fee. His current research interests lie in acoustic-seismic coupling. They have been working to understand and quantify the seismic particle motion of air-to-ground coupled waves, and exploring its potential to characterize shallow subsurface structure. Outside of work, Logan enjoys hiking, skiing, and playing guitar.
