An 8-element infrasound array located on the campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The I53US array was installed in 2002 and is spread over the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus on an area of semi-continuous permafrost covered by a mixed spruce/birch forest. The elements are covered in snow from October to April, when temperatures can reach as low as -50F, but summer temperatures can peak in the 90s in June and July.
